Normally,
caller id
functionality
is handled
by the ACE
Server, in
which case
ACE-CID is
not needed.
However, if
you need to
monitor a
device for
caller id
data on a
different
computer
than the ACE
Server, then
the ACE-CID
module is
what you
need.
It allows a
caller id
device to be
connected to
a serial
port on any
computer
that is also
running an
ACE Client
or ACE-32.
ACE-CID
monitors
this caller
id device
and then
uses the ACE
Client or
ACE-32 to
forward the
caller id
data to the
ACE Server
for
processing.
